Owner + Principal Designer
Laura Lien is the founder and principal designer of Laura Lien Interior Design, a full-service interior design firm based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, working with clients both locally and across the country. With more than 22 years of professional experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from South Dakota State University, Laura brings a thoughtful blend of formal education, technical expertise, and refined industry experience to every project she leads.
Laura’s career began in Colorado at a respected residential design firm, where she developed a strong foundation in creating homes that are both beautifully layered and highly functional. She later expanded her expertise within a commercial architecture firm, gaining valuable experience in large-scale planning, technical detailing, and collaborative project execution. After returning to South Dakota, she continued refining her craft with an established design firm before co-founding a retail interior design studio, where she helped shape its creative vision and client experience.
Over time, Laura felt drawn to a more personal and fully immersive approach to design, leading her to step away from the retail side of the industry and focus exclusively on full-service interior design. This shift allowed her to create a more personalized, relationship-driven experience centered around thoughtful planning, elevated interiors, and exceptional attention to detail. Today, she works closely with homeowners and business owners on luxury new builds, high-end renovations, and commercial projects, guiding each one from initial concept through final installation with care, creativity, and precision.
